Johnnys Place from major sights like Buckingham
Palace or Big Ben?
A: It takes around
10-15 minutes on the Underground to get to
attractions like Big Ben and Buckingham Palace.
Johnnysplace is less than 5 minutes walk from
Kennington tube station which is on the Northern
Line and you can choose from going to the West End
or to the City of London (St Pauls Cathedral)

Johnnys Place from London’s airports?
A: By tube:
Johnnys Place is less than 5 minutes walk from
Kennington tube station; By air/rail:
From Heathrow:
take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station,
then either take a taxi or the Underground to
Kennington tube station (either the Circle Line
going Eastbound to Embankment tube station and then
onto the Northern Line or the Bakerloo Line going
South to Elephant & Castle tube station and then the
Northern Line to Kennington tube station);
From Gatwick:
take the Gatwick Express to London Victoria then
take the Underground using the Circle or District
Line going Eastbound to Embankment tube station and
then change to the Northern Line going South to
Kennington tube station;
From London Luton:
take the train from Luton Airport Parkway train
station to Kings Cross, then change to the
Underground and take the Northern Line going South
to Kennington tube station;
From Stanstead:
take the Stanstead Express to Liverpool Street
Station, then change to the Underground and take the
Central Line going Westbound to Bank tube station
and then change to the Northern Line going South to
Kennington tube station;
From City Airport:
take the Docklands Light Railway to Bank tube

Q: How do you
reach Johnnys Place from Kennington Underground
Station?
A: When you come
out of Kennington tube station the main road in
front of you is Kennington Park Road, go left and
Johnnysplace is a couple of minutes away on the left
hand side.
Q: Are there shops
and restaurants nearby?
A: Opposite
Kennington tube station there is a small mini market
where you can buy the basics (bread, milk, water,
etc). There is a Tesco supermarket less than 10
minutes walking. On the way to Tesco you will see a good
selection of restaurants and gastro pubs (the Prince
of Wales pub in Cleaver Square is a lovely
traditional English pub which serves food during
lunch and in the evening). You also have the option
of ordering a take away (Pizza, chinese, thai, etc)
.
Q: What time is
check in?
A: Providing there
is no one staying at Johnnysplace the previous night
then you are welcome to check in before 1pm. If
Johnnyplace is booked the previous night of your
arrival then the check in time will be between 1 and
2pm. Some guests who want to check in very early (ie
8:00am or 9:00am) opt to also book the previous
night as a safeguard. For very early arrivals (who
haven't booked the previous night) and also very
late arrivals (late in the evening) we would
appreciate if you could bring a couple of souvenirs
from your home country (this is optional of course,
we have already received lovely souvenirs from
Canada and Iceland...don't let your country down!)
Q: What time is
check out?
A: Likewise, if
you have a late flight and we do not have guests
booked in the apartment that night you are welcome
to leave at your leisure; otherwise we request that
you leave at around noon (12:00am).
Q: is there
wireless Internet connection?
A: Yes there is.
Q: Is Kennington a
safe area?
A: Kennington is a
residential area which is very safe at all hours.
Kennington Park Road is a main road with beautiful
period houses dating to 1790.
